"Israel's Defense Minister has once again threatened unlawful force against civilians, attempting to justify violence with baseless smears," the crew members said. "We will not be intimidated."
As they drew nearer to Gaza on Sunday, the 12 crew members of the Freedom Flotilla vessel the Madleen remained undeterred in their mission to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave, even as an Israeli official issued new threats.
""To the antisemitic Greta and her fellow Hamas propaganda spokespeople, I say clearly: You should turn back—because you will not reach Gaza," Katz said, referring to Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, one of the 12 people on board. "Israel will act against any attempt to break the blockade or assist terrorist organizations—at sea, in the air, and on land.""
Are they not just basically calling them Hamas?
I hope what I expect to happen doesn't happen, but if it does, I hope it will ignite an awakening among western people/governments.
The crew on board the Madleen said that four speedboats approached their ship just after 1am local time (22:00 GMT).
Yasemin Acar told Al Jazeera from onboard that two of the boats remained nearby. “We are very close to Gaza, approximately 100 miles [161km] away,” she said.
-Two drones then approached the ship, reportedly spraying a white substance on the crew.
A video of the crew on board taken just before their communications were cut showed them sitting with their hands raised and following an order to throw their phones into the sea.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs then said the crew were being taken to the Israeli Port of Ashdod.
