I know this is the least bad part of the story, but it stuck out anyway:
After a lengthy drive to the bar, Strobel said he stepped inside to use the men’s room. However, there were no stalls—only urinals, rendering it inaccessible to him as a trans man.
Precisely where are men supposed to shit in this establishment?

They dont care what bathroom a person uses. It's not about the restroom ... it's about legal harassment.
Also ... what the fuck are people doing to get gender checked and arrested? There is no law about obeying the gender sign (at least not in my state or any state I have been in). Is walking into the wrong bathroom a crime or something?

The bar owner harassed them personally. They charged them with trespassing and public intoxication, despite the fact they consumed no alcohol and were not breathalyzed.

At work they put in a bunch of these during a renovation a few years ago. Only problem is we hit hard times and didn't renovate more bathrooms so these are far away. I make the trek over to them when I need to poop though. So much nicer than the men's room.

If they changed building code so all new buildings did that it would solve the issue. but my solution won't change existing infrastructure. Its just a sign change.

Besides there are legitimate reason why women would want to use another bathroom as an option. Ever see the women vs men bathroom line? Way longer on avg. Sometimes you got to go and jail time for going is bs.

It has never been about which restroom trans people use, it was always been about being able to harass and vilify trans people.

I’m pretty sure that recent UK Supreme Court case ended up making it illegal for trans men to use any public restroom. My understanding is that it forces trans women to use the men’s but has a carve out saying that trans men can’t use the women’s.

i don't pass at all. i just want to piss and leave as quickly as possible, and i hate doing the whole "use the potty sitting down like you have a pussy" song and dance to avoid drawing attention, i ain't got time to spend putting on a stupid show of using the bathroom "correctly" to mollify the normies. so i just ignore the stupid ass sign and use the damn urinal like the penis haver that i am and that i am absolutely fine with being. usually nobody cares. if the establishment has a problem with me using the bathroom i get a bottle or can off the ground, fill it with piss, and empty it on their doorstep so everyone tracks it in cause fuck em.

I think bathrooms are such a common issue with bigotry because shitting is a vulnerable state where in nature makes us vulnerable to tooth and claw type predators. Therefore it's a psychological shortcut to appeal to danger and panic.
