Jay, and an excuse to post my Jay photo from today (Reading, UK)

closest I've found is a Jay, but am not sure
- Indeed a Jay if Google Translate is to be believed. I know it as a Flemish Jay (Vlaamse gaai). I find it rather pretty.
  
  He's got a big of a punk rocker thing going on at the front. Does that narrow it down a bit?
  
  My fist though was the french "geai" so I guess it is the same bird.

might help if you tell us geographically where you are seeing it
- north-west europe, above the tropic of cancer but below the arctic circle, on a greenish landmass rotating on the nearest planet to us in the solar system
  
  good ol Sol, that system is great. Mostly harmless.
