I left Reddit after the API broke down, and it took me a while to get a client because I first went with Kbin and it didn't work with Lemmy clients. After I got to Lemmy I kept waiting for Sync to get good. Nah, sadly not. Switched to Connect, and later Voyager, and I think this is where it's at.
really wish I had just started here when that happened instead of trying to still reddit with Redreader. reddit without word filters is just such assssss
I have my home feed sorted by Top in the past 12 Hours, which helps limit how much time I spend on here. Unfortunately, my stupid monkey brain will see all the posts in that feed, close the app, then immediately reopen it as if I'll see new posts.
the crowd here reminds me of the 2010s reddit. I vibe with people better even when there is disagreements. Reddit doesn't even feel like "le reddit" anymore.
You can make it work using ReVanced. Pretty straightforward process too. I do go back to reddit for some stuff where Lemmy hasn't hit critical mass yet, but they get no participation from me.
I launch it and get the changelog pop up. It's always a fix for little things I've noticed. Things I'd never think about otherwise, but I read the bullet points and see how they could happen and it clicks.
