If they openly come out and say it the conservative media will tell us he deserved it. They already dehumanize anyone who is different why not go all out at this point?

Honestly I don't think he's dead, as soon as he gets back he'll start talking about the horrible conditions and that will be headline news for God knows how long. That would be terrible for the administration and Republicans in general. If he was dead they could blame the prison for not protecting him and shift the blame.
