Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has not mentioned his promise to gut the CBC at any of his press conferences or policy announcements since the election campaign started.
It's the same strategy as Trump with Project 2025: deny or remain silent about all your most unpopular plans to damage the country, and only reveal them when you start doing them after getting elected.
Don't let Poilievre get elected. He wants to transform Canada into the same kind of hellscape as the USA, and he isn't even honest enough to say so.
Funding the CBC IS putting Canada first.
Sure, anyone with half a brain and awareness of the ownership of a broad swath of Canadian news sources knows that. It's also exactly why pp wanted to defund it

PP was never going to defund CBC, saying they're going to cut BBC is ol' reliable for Torys across the pond. It's all bluster to rile up the victim mindset that is baked into conservative media.
