Justin Trudeau called abandoning electoral reform his biggest regret as prime minister. With a federal election on the horizon, how quickly can voting systems change? CBC News explains.
It seems weird that they describe PR as vulnerable to fringe parties when we've got front row seats for two party FPTP allowing fascists to get all the power...
You're right, that is in the video description. The actual video shows Trudeau talking about it though and he doesn't say it's his biggest regret. He does say "I do wish we had been able to change the way we elect our governments in this country..." That is different than saying"My biggest regret is not changing the way we elect our governments in this country..."
Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for almost 2 weeks, and parliament is not in session. Had Trudeau called back parliament, the Conservatives would have forced an election and we would be right back where we are now.
Nope no he's not. He shuffled off for what two weeks now?
Edit to Add: We gotta be vocal about ending FPTP. Shoot I know the liberals picked Carney by ranked choice. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
We have to be vocal about getting proportional representation, let's not fall into that 2015 trap again.

I think IRV actually makes the most sense for single member "districts" (in this case, for a single leadership role). But a true democracy deserves proportional representation.
