Wouldn't that also destroy everything European itself? So if I cancel Disneys & hollywoods copyrights and we could totally pirate every american movie like we want, who would pay to see a french one? Would local TV stations even produce their own content anymore?
French people only watch French-speaking content, and I find dubbed content awful. I think it would greatly benefit them to redirect resources into local contents.

I'm not a lawyer, I just read that this 654/2014 is the bazooka with which the EU will hit back, and I know that much more knowledgeable people than me seem very confident that the EU will hit back so hard when tariffed that Trump probably won't do it. This regulation must be a big part of that.
No idea how it will actually be implemented but the EU Trade Bazooka is real.
