It will swerve to the side at the last moment and then spontaneously combust.
We still have the EU as a last beacon of hope for democracy and betterment for the people. Tesla will have to fulfill pretty high standards if it wants to be able to self drive in the EU, which is big enough to be a market you don't want to lose.
