Polish government adopts resolution protecting Netanyahu from arrest if he attends Auschwitz event
The Polish government has adopted a resolution vowing to ensure the free and safe participation of Israeli leaders who choose to attend commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau later this month.

It's even weirder, as he apparently did not intended to visit.
Remember when South Africa said they would arrest Putin if he came there to visit the 2023 BRICS summit? They upheld international law at a high cost. Now the Poland flushes it down the toilet.
Wasn't it two days ago that they were complaining that ICC member Mongolia didn't arrest Putin when he has a warrant out for him?
Maybe he's not going there to pay respect, but to learn from mistakes of the other fascists?
News apart, why did I always assume that Auschwitz was in Austria?! I guess I'm just dumb
Auschwitz is the German version of the name of Polish town Oświęcim where the camp is located. Poles and many other people too specifically says "Oświęcim" when it's about town and "Auschwitz" when it's about camp, to signify who's responsible for the camp.
Also fun fact, the Polish name means "we will sanctify" in archaic Polish
