They jailed the suffragettes for pulling off ridiculous tactics. The suffragettes still won, because they were right, no matter what protest tactic they used.
They won in spite of their tactics, because the terrorism they caused didn't actually work.
What made them win if not their tactics? If the terrorism didn't work, what did?
