Non ironically though, I love Heup. Just called time out to get the ball back with just under 2 minutes in the first half while up 45-0. Most coaches would let the Mocs burn clock right there
I know I make fun of pumpkin orange, but gotta say I don't love y'all's "Smoky" gray uniforms. Feels like Great Value non-Ohio OSU. Looked like a good solid warmup win though.
At least TCU had a good one last night. And you've got the TN game to look forward to! (I will never believe we are gonna win that game any season until the clock shows :00s)
Just got back from kiddo's coding class. Glad to see Florida is hanging in there. And dear God, Swamp Sunny Side in August... WHY? And if you are, why waste it on one of very few opponents that can absolutely handle it? I assume I can blame ESPN.
I haven't caught any of that game, just seeing the box score, but I wonder if things are just a little off with Kirk Ferentz out. (Not like bringing him back next week is going to make the offense any better, though...)
I wonder what the exact rule is, Vols were up 48-0 at half and I don't think we employed any such rule
Edit: it seems that both coaches have to agree to it, but it can happen at any point, see below:
The National Collegiate Athletic Association's mercy rule provides, "Any time during the game, the playing time of any remaining period or periods and the intermission between halves may be shortened by mutual agreement of the opposing head coaches and the referee." (NCAA Football Rule 3-2-2-a)
I could be wrong, but I thought the bevel went away a while ago. IIRC, most Aggies don't like it because it was like a 1% departure from muh traditionz.
I'm not a UT fan either, but certain parts of the A&M fan base are particularly eye-rolling to deal with. No program has done less with more over the decades without admitting it.
