I used to pick up 5 sticks of approximately equal length that were sufficiently bendable without breaking.
They can then be assembled into a nice pentagram after a few tries to stop them from falling apart and left at the side of the road.An alternative method is to use those reed-like, long, strong "grass" to make one from a single piece instead of multiple. Those are usually smaller though
