The US will impose tariffs on foreign-made cars starting on April 2, US President Donald Trump said. One institute has said the tariffs could raise the price of a car in the US by thousands of dollars.
Still not buying American trash cars. Of all the vehicles I've ever owned, American cars were by far the worst. I'll stick to my Japanese autos thank you very much. They know how to make a reliable car that punches above its class. I don't give two shits if I have to pay a tariff.
You know what cars aren't manufactured in the USA? American cars. I drive a fusion and the only part I could find that wasn't made in Mexico was the radio.
Anyone that has worked in automotive manufacturing can confirm. Most of the material comes packaged in boxes "shipped from" Mexico or China. It's assembled in the US and so they say "Made in the U.S.A."
Yeah, and because of NAFTA to build a car, parts were going across the border multiple times back and forth. So with tariffs that can increase the price much more.
It's on both, but just learned that apparently it won't impact the parts that going back and forth across the border. It looks like those additional tariffs which will affect it are still planned on April 2nd.
