Habe jetzt kurz pixelfed und instapix überflogen.. sieht identisch aus - wo sind die Unterschiede?
Pixelfed ist die Software, instapix die Instanz. So wie Lemmy und feddit
aber pixelfed hat davor doch schon funktioniert oder nicht? Jetzt bin ich verwirrt
Die Fesiverse Foundation, die auch Feddit.org hostet, hat jetzt eine eigene Pixelfed Instanz.
Kann man Instanzen mit dem Begriff Server gleichsetzen oder haben Instanzen noch andere Eigenschaften, weshalb Sie den (für mich verwirrend unintuitiven) Namen bekommen?
Das kann man gleichsetzen. Keine Ahnung ob es da einen Unterschied gibt, aber es ist faktisch das gleiche.
Ich fand den Titel auch etwas missverständlich. Ja, pixelfed hat davor schon funktioniert.
Dass jetzt aber eine neue, zuverlässige Instanz dazukommt ist trotzdem eine super Sache.
