Amazon Music: good track selection, awful apps. Horrid integration with Sonos.
YouTube Music: I was using this for quite a while, my kids hated it because of the way the miniplayer worked. I found it frustrating because it would often play a YouTube rip of a song instead of the album track.
Tidal: great choice, but I couldn't get it to use gapless playback when casting to my receiver.
Apple Music: we're currently all using this one. Everyone is happy (Android, Chromecast, Sonos, iPhones, iPads, Car Play, and Android Auto). Finally.
I know it’s fashionable to hate on Apple (justified or not), but Apple Music is very good. As a bonus, you can bundle it with Apple TV+, which have so many extremely good shows and movies.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have a look at them. Unfortunately none of them seem all that good. Spotify ist the only one that has a Linux app. Tide has a third party app, which is just the website inside electron. Even the Spotify app is just electron. I find it extremely shitty that these companies don't even bother publishing electron apps. The ratings on the play store are also mostly bad. But I have to investigate that.
