Are you serious? The 2 year old died of an overdose. The death could have been prevented by picking up the phone to a hospital instead of uber. The parents had their family living in abject squalor with carbon monoxide levels that should have rendered them unconcious within 20 minutes and rubbish, drugs, urine and feces strewn on the floor and surfaces. Their still living 6 year old tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine.
Despite all that other stuff, the fact that they're in the US and therefore calling for an ambulance would cost in the thousands probably had more bearing on the situation than them being terrible parents. I wonder how many small children have died due to preventable disease or injury with good, yet financially poor, parents who hesitated to call an ambulance.
I think it's more likely they weren't calling an ambulance because they didnt want to either have their drugs confiscated or be go to prison for possession
Oh yeah, the whole thing is horrible. I just read that as light editorializing "if what he said was true, they'd all be unconscious, so he's probably full of shit and lying to cover his ass."
