Hopefully their plan has backfired. Early voting in Ohio has far exceeded expectations for this special election. I believe they were hoping it would be low turn out based on previous August elections. So far it appears they vastly underestimated how many people were paying attention. If you’re in Ohio and haven’t voted yet get to it!

NHL teams won’t have players wear themed jerseys during pregame warmups next season. That decision was made after the league’s Board of Governors agreed with Commissioner Gary Bettman that a handful of players refusing to wear Pride jerseys distracted from teams’ efforts.
At least they will still have the cause nights but just won’t make players wear the jerseys.
Yeah, it’s been odd which of my comments have been restored. I just make a point a few times a week to check and re-delete any that reappear. It’s shady as fuck but at this point I’m honestly not surprised. I also received a mod message for a small sub I have (about 2500 subscribers) stating that if the sub isn’t removed from private/restricted further actions may be taken. I’m the only admin currently and the sub isn’t terribly active so it makes it all the more hilarious. They really must be getting desperate and worried at this point. I reported the message as harassment and replied 🖕. I also changed the sub to nsfw. Lol likely won’t change anything but it’s provided me with some good chuckles. Lol.
The only times I have visited Reddit since all this drama started has been to delete/edit my comments then re-delete/edit as they are “mysteriously” restored 🙄. It was an adjustment at first but now I don’t even have the desire to return to that shit site. Let it burn 🔥.

As a Blue Jackets fan I'm a bit conflicted LOL. I'd prefer neither of these teams win but i guess if i had to pick it would be vegas... I just don't think i can watch our former star goalie win a cup with another team.

I don’t mind the layout it’s definitely less busy/cluttered than Reddit with all the stupid ads and sponsored posts 🙄. The only thing that I find mildly annoying is when using the site on desktop there’s a ton of white/dead space on the left and right margins.

I agree things are just now starting to intensify on Reddit. If and when they go through with those changes will be when some people start to wake up. The ones that don’t see it then probably never will lol.
Yeah, I’ll admit until a few days ago I had never heard about lemmy. Wasn’t until I was seriously seeking something other than Reddit did I come across this site. It reminds me some of the twitter exodus after musk bought it. Lots of new interest in mastodon like almost overnight. I’m sure some of it died down due to mastodon not being *exactly * like twitter and it does have a bit of a learning curve but surprisingly mastodon continues to grow at a pretty decent pace. I imagine a bit of a similar situation here.
