Please share how to run the pesticide and herbicide places out of town. Would love some good options.
3 months ago I cancelled Spotify, following yet another price increase. I went to Tidal for the 2 month trial, and another month full price.
This month I cancelled Tidal, following their deprecation of Plex integration, my finding a couple tracks with bad meta data, and some other here-and-there’s where the service was lackluster.
I’m current on Apple Music.
I like that Apple Music has lossless, like Tidal did. The Apple Music algo seems a bit better so far, even comparing to Spotify or the last time I tried Apple Music (~3-4 years ago). And, one of the things I didn’t know I wanted, music videos for my morning jam time, are better with Apple Music.
I imagine I’ll be staying here for a while.
I was an efficiency whore while working management at a big software company.
It sucked in some very specific ways. I didn’t even realize the impact until after I left that environment.
There were some good things from corporate America, too, but they didn’t bring real ultimate power happiness.
In my rural area’s 50 mile radius, there are just gas stations with to-go bags. The gas stations are, at best, convenience stores.
I uninstalled the app after seeing it was just an advertising opportunity for those gas stations.
Alternatively, if they are happy with their pro-grums, familiar with the interface, and not getting gouged worse than the next cable subscriber — consider letting it rest.
From things like being able to punch in a channel number to having the cable company to call for issues, folks in that generation might really prefer paying.
I’m basing this on my years of experience with a now 60-something and now 80-something. YMMV
The Spaceburger looks pretty dope.
I asked Tidal to expand on the why. Not the most satisfying answer, but I thought this was a fun sentence:
We can confirm that since your account was activated with TIDAL Direct billing, you can still use the Plex app, and since the partnership will be concluded at some point, it won't work any more.
🤦♂️
I tried it, and it’s a real nice way to discover stuff. I’m coming off the Tidal 2 month trial, and part of me wishes I hadn’t tried this functionality (because I will miss it).
It was probably Aspen Dental.
It’s not so much the motivation, but the just doing it. Shia has a great video on the subject:
Totally fair answer! I do have other accounts, though it’s less about corporate media influence and more about convenience / the mental obstacle of remembering to change accounts.
I guess I could bookmark each instance as it’s own PWA on my mobile, making it a bit easier. I guess it depends how bad one wants to get to the content! :-)
That’s unfortunate. I enjoy seeing the content. I understood .world to be pretty general when I left Reddit, not necessarily a vegan-hating type place.
I totally admit I don’t read comments to notice the hating you refer to, as I enjoy the exposure to the posts and photos, but it also looks like you generally don’t like Lemmy much and prefer Reddit:
Lemmy is bullshit and the people awful

Sorry to hear you’ve had such a poor experience.
That’s not quite what I said. You have strong convictions, and I wish you well.

Poor advice, IMO. Going below BMR is ok, starvation mode is largely a myth, and, while nutrition is important, it is not necessary for caloric-deficit weight loss.
I’m with ya. I’d at least prefer that the increased security came with some extra privileges, like scan and go.
When in Rome, I guess. And I’ll try not to be a grump about it.
My thoughts exactly. I gain almost nothing with this design change, as compared to keeping the current or similar-to “bar” form and folding out from there.
I’m starting to have visions of Zoolander and his ridiculously small cell phone..
I just switched from Spotify to Tidal, and am enjoying lossless audio. We'll see if I stay or go here.
It’s fun to try a new algorithm, too. I used SongShift to transfer my tracks and playlists (have been using that app for 5 years or so now).
Came here to say this. If you do a 360, you turned around twice.
I have a Soda Stream and use powders. The trick is to turn your powder into a “syrup” first.
Mix your powder with 1-2 oz of water, stir it well (I use a hand held milk frother), and then put that into your bubbly water.
Just popped in to say that I miss Memmy. I switch between Voyager and Thunder these days.
They are ok.
Yet I’m still back here, on this community, telling y’all my opinion on it.

I’m new to the Unraid scene, after putting off doing something other than Windows-based serving and sharing for about.. oh, about 14 years. By “new to the scene”, I mean: “Trial expires in 28 days 22 hours 6 minutes” :-)
Anywho, I ran into an issue with a disabled drive. The solution was to rebuild it. I solved it thanks to a post by u/Medical_Shame4079, on Reddit.
That made me think about the whole “losing stuff on Reddit” maybe problem of the future. While this post isn’t much, maybe it will be helpful to someone else, sometime else.
The issue? A drive ha a status of disabled, and it has a message of “device is disabled contents emulated unraid.”
The fix: > Stop the array, unassign the disk, start the array in maintenance mode, stop it again, reassign the drive to the same slot. The idea is to start the array temporarily with the drive “missing” so it changes from “disabled” to “emulated” status, then to stop it and “replace” the drive to get it back to “active” status.
Looking forward to more time with Unraid. It’s been easy to pick up so far.
The wedding was ok, but the reception was great!!
