Is auth short for authoritarian or authentic?

I'd previously found that I couldn't log in from Firefox on Android, but I've just tried logging in to this account from a FF private window and it worked first time.

There was a discussion about this (specifically a reposting bot) and it's pretty split between allow, disallow and allow only in certain subs. There are definitely a lot of communities here that are empty or nearly so, but I think most would rather see organic growth instead of automated reddit-cloning.

I have used reddit archives as one of the sources to find content to kickstart communities, but I assume you're talking about something in bulk that's a lot more automated.

I voted no, although I nearly voted for the "only in certain comms" option. I've got the beginnings of a tool that will make it easy for people to select content from the reddit backups, but I didn't intend to make it automatic, just something that helped people find content.

If it's got its own API key, it'll probably stay under the limits, and if not there's other ways like RSS/Atom or web scraping.

There is a setting on an account that says it's a bot account and I think I remember seeing it mentioned after the username in a similar way to how nsfw posts are flagged.
