I didn't actually realise Aussie Housesitters wasn't necessarily a paid service, that's interesting (though like I said in another comment reply, I genuinely don't mind paying any amount as long as I'm sure the dog is being taken care of properly). I would much rather have someone come to our home and stay with him, and we also have cats but they're much easier to sort care out for (they just want a full food bowl tbh). I'll take another look through the site cheers for the suggestion
I just took a look through Pawshake, i had only heard of Mad Paws but I suppose there's alot of similarities and overlap. My main concern with these apps are whether people will even wanna walk the little shit haha he can be a little bit of a pain (absolutely working on it but its taking time) And since he's an active dog he'd definitely need to be walked at some point over the one-two week period haha
I might give Granite Hill another look at. This is the one my grandma used exclusively for her pets, but those pets and granny herself are long gone so I wasn't sure how it is these days. I'll take a look at the Hallam one too. I don't mind pricing or anything, I just wanna come home to a happy and healthy dog 😬
Has anyone got any dog sitter/boarding kennel recommendations or horror stories they wanna share?
I wanna go with my partner to their home country for a max of 2 weeks next early year, but we have a dog and no friends/family who would be able to take him or stay at our house with him.
I'm hesitant because he's a tiny bit screwed up due to a couple occasions where off-leash dogs attacked him, but sometimes he's really good with other dogs - it just depends. He absolutely loves people though.... Unfortunately I'll probably end up just not going for the trip but we'll see
Whole process from sign up to receiving the certificate took less than 10 mins (edited because I said script instead of certificate lol i didn't get a script because it's not required, cert only)
Ok, I know everyone is waiting for the update on how I obtained my medical certificate for today. Congratulations to Instant Scripts for being chosen by me so I can enjoy my sick day (or, not enjoy because I really don't feel well lol but anyway). Thanks for the advice all
Im sorta now lowkey cut I was even asked to get one for today to start with though. I've worked here for a few years now and I only ever given one when it's 2+ days. No complaining better be made about me using Instant Scripts because again, my doctor has no appointments for today anyway. Ain't nobody got time to go deal with a new clinic when all they wanna do is sleep the day away and try to feel better asap :(
Does anyone get medical certificates from the chemist? Not feeling great today so called in sick, boss wants a certificate which is fair. But my doctor doesn't have any appointments today, and a $20 cert from the chemist will cost me less than going to a new clinic (no where around me bulk bills anymore or has appointments today).... My boss can't reject a chemist one right?
I loved Legends and Lattes so much so that I bought the physical copy after listening to the audiobook, which is something I never do
I wish I was me now but it was March 2012 instead, so I could go see my current obsession Electrelane play at the Corner. Not only did I not even listen to them back then, but I would've been too young to go anyway smh
I hear ya. My dog was attacked as a puppy on two separate occassions from off lead dogs, and as a result he's not great with dogs who run up to him suddenly while he's on a leash (which he always is because I don't trust other people or cars lmao). I also don't walk him where I know there's gonna be lots of dogs just in case, cause people suck - so that generally rules out all the nice dog-friendly places we could go. He hasn't actually attacked another dog, but I don't wanna take that risk because I've had friends whose dogs were perfectly trained with no prior negative experiences, and have still ended up going another dog in certain situations. I just want my bebi to be safe, especially since going for super long walks with him is one of my favourite things to do :(
Really wish people would keep their dogs on leash in areas where it literally says to keep your dog on leash. Some dog runs right up to mine not even 50m away from said "dogs must be on leash" sign. I don't wanna hear "ohhhh sorrrrrryyy about that", I just don't want your dog to run up to mine smh
hell yeah to audiobooks, a good book can make work go by so fast. If you're not already using it look into Libby, by OverDrive cause alot of good audiobooks are available at the library for f r e e
Ugh. How much do friend arguments suck. You've only got my side of the story, but they were absolutely being an immature brat about a work thing they're going through. And during their ranting, they also managed to direct some insults at me. Uncalled for dude. And I actually think they could be using this work situation to their advantage. Hopefully we can move past this, because I have since apologised (though between us I lowkey think I shouldn't be apologising lmao), but so be it if we don't. A shame, but this isn't the first time things have been said that don't sit right with me. UGH
Found my way to ol' r/melbourne for the first time in 5ever while I was chilling before my class began, and I came across a thread with the title about being afraid of the future and the apocalyptic feeling or whatever. And despite knowing what the comments were gonna be like, I still went and read them smh. I used to have genuine panic attacks when I was a teen about climate change, and while I don't try to avoid climate-relating talk or news because it's still important, I do try to avoid it when I have stuff I need to get done (for example class tonight) because I tend to get in a sort of..idk, stress mode haha.
Anyway, shouldn't have gone to reddit to start with, and shouldn't have read those thread comments lol hopefully venting this to the world's friendliest DT will help
Day off work, that's good. But it's because I'm sick, that's bad.
Lmao I have no interest in sales, but being a dev is my ultimate goal - however, I do enjoy wearing clean clothes
Thank you, that calms my anxieties! Very good point about it being a red flag too, I'll keep that in mind
Oh true? Thanks for your insights, it makes me feel a bit less anxious about it haha I just want to do IT jobs smh I selfishly don't want to change stuff like that about me hahaha
I'd be trying for help desk/service tech roles ... I think that's fair why you wear it 😃 It sounds silly but even the thought of wearing it makes me feel uncomfortable, and I don't think this is like a "you get used to it" thing - it's the same as dresses. I just sort of can't if that makes sense haha
I have a Q that might seem dumb, but I don't have any friends who would be able to answer haha
Are women who work in IT sort of expected to wear make up? I need to start applying for IT jobs, and in my whole 27 years I think I've worn make up like three times - all of those being for dancing events when I was a kid lol and I'd really prefer to not start wearing it now
