It used to be possible as networks could advertise that they owned IP ranges that they didn’t actually own using BGP, which is what’s used for high level routing. This is what China did around 2010 where they allegedly routed all the internet traffic in the world through China for like 10 minutes. I guess somebody could do that and then just drop every packet.
I expect that’s not possible anymore though, but I’ve been out the game a while so I don’t know for sure.
I’ve got a lot of time for Microsoft hardware. I remember around 2000 when if you wanted a mouse or keyboard you basically had to buy whatever abomination Logitech was flogging at the time. Then Microsoft came along and started making stuff that was actually a little sexy.
This game bugged me, it totally missed the SCP vibe for me and it put me off. I also found the combat pretty boring.
I always liked the way that SCP is about a bureaucratic organisation trying to control and contain these supernatural entities. In Control they live inside an entity and literally let one control the organisation. That just seems so anti-SCP to me.
The headline’s kinda misleading if you read the articles. He said the attacker should be bailed out so he could be questioned. He also said the attack was “awful” and “not right”.
I’d actually rather they make electric vehicles more attractive than just ban combustion engines. People are moving over anyway, it’d be better if people were excited about changing instead of bitter.
I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of people out there who know exactly who Banksy is. It’ll be like with The Stig, all the journalists knew who he was but the mystery was more interesting and sold more papers.
I’m quite old now and I had parents who were really old when I was born. I remember asking my Mum what kids did all day before TV, and she said they were mostly just bored all the time.
Nowadays I think the internet actually helps me get outside and do more. It’s so much easier to find places to go, such as going for a walk or a bike ride, now that I can just quickly open an app on my phone. Mostly though it helps me find hobbies I wouldn’t have had before, and it helps me get on with them and learn.
I worked on vehicles before I had the internet but I had no idea what I was doing. I went on bike rides but I just went the same route each time and it wasn’t as fun as going to all the places I go now. I’d heard about homebrewing beer but I’d never have started if I couldn’t find all the help I need online, I’ve got a few litres of cider going in my cupboard that I just made from apples in the garden last night. If I didn’t have internet I’d have probably spent last night watching telly, instead I’m out in the garden picking apples.
I was in France the other day and a restaurant on the beach started playing it. Not sure they understood English around there. You’d think they’d know the word Christmas though.
Aside from install and the first welcome screen I don’t recall seeing anything.
