I’ve been taking a long break from reading anything here. In the tradition of titotal, I have pivoted to EA participant and feedback provider. In this case, my EA is the Hades II Early Access, which is great, by the way.

Before clicking in, I was convinced that “RightMove” was some new treacles aligned community and was trying to make sense of the name

Have now finished the ep. Good ep, as always! Peter read and reviewed it this time. He seems to like Lewis’s writing but was fairly critical of his lack of awareness and sycophancy towards SBF.

FWIW I clicked through all their references to see if they cited you (they did not). One day your name will come up organically through the various media I consume, but today is not that day.

I went to check if he is tall, since tall people just get bonus charisma for no good reason. I found a pic of him next to orlando bloom, who is apparently 1.8m. He was a little shorter than that, maybe an inch or two, putting him at 1.75m ish, or 5’9”. So not that tall. So I don’t have any fucking clue either.

I used to work at Big Tech Co where I was told that they designed their promotion policy to avoid the Peter principle, which is why I, an engineer, would not be promoted without going outside of my responsibilities to build up my promo packet.

Later, when I was fired, I thought about how my manager was probably going to be given kudos for firing me. I had been contending with undiagnosed ADHD, and when I told my manager that I had been diagnosed and that they should accommodate my needs, I was told that I needed to be more flexible, i.e. act like a “normal”/neurotypical person. So to the company, this manager was doing a good job, since I was now a drain on resources. But clearly this manager was a failure for not learning how to manage someone with ADHD. Peter principle fulfilled!

I had heard that managers fucking suck, but experiencing it IRL was a different story. So everything ed writes here aligns with the patterns I have experienced. Managers ain’t shit.

I initially deleted this because these ideas aren’t really that fascist, so I was gonna take a second pass. Then I remembered that thinking of fascist ideas makes me feel awful so here we are.

Well it’s one thing to see someone tie red strings on a corkboard to try explain gases, and it’s another to see people in the comments buy into the idea. But then again, we are in the presence of acausal roboticists
