That’s the trick. None of them have all of the pieces. We’re a social species. All of our efforts are collective. We use our combined brainpower to make these breakthroughs.
The first person crossing the line gets all the credit, because our society is obsessed with credit and patents. And then it freezes the advancements for the length of exclusivity, until we can all finally start working on it together again. It’s stupid and inefficient. We need to stop teaching these individualism myths.
So why not just tell them conservatives accomplished all of those things? If we’re just trying to make them feel good, and giving credit to people who had nothing to do with it, why not just reinforce their bias?
No, it’s just one group of rightwingers, talking to another faction of rightwingers, trying to take credit for the left’s work to increase their recruitment.
It’s not “pointlessly pedantic.” It’s crucial distinction we have to constantly make, because liberals have been trying to steal that credit for as long as there have been liberals. And nice job throwing in the standard liberal condescension, straight up admitting the tactic is to talk down to conservatives as if they’re children. Because that’s worked so well?
Again, they’re asking for people to rsvp to the event. Likely so the congressional staffers running the rally can sell voter lists. But if you think adding your name to a list right now is a good idea, you are really not grasping what is happening right now.

When they’re distracted like this, you could use an improvised blunt weapon to take out at least one of them. Then the other guy might have a chance to get away when the other two respond to that change in situation. If you can hit and run, you might both get away.
If they’re in plain clothes, and refuse to identify themselves, it is completely appropriate to treat it as an authentic kidnapping, and defend people accordingly.
There’s plenty that can be done. You just risk getting shot. And yeah, that’s really scary, but that guy just got kidnapped. You’re not a hero for yelling at the kidnappers as they drag them away.
If we’re going to fight fascism, y’all are going to have to make peace with the fact that some of us are going to get shot.
Because they’re stupid. Same people who think we just need to vote in Dems to stop ICE, even though Dems keep voting to increase ICE funding, and Dems issued a public thank you letter to ICE agents when the raids started.
