  • Literally had this same chat with an old redpilled friend.

  • Its a trick the right poll similar to fishing emails. They go after people with low critical thinking by design.

  • If all these post revolve around photos and screenshots it is a loose link but all follow similar trends.

If this post deletes might be worthwhile putting together a mega thread.

  • The person who posted pics of theyre new place with one double bed they share with theyre father struck me as odd.

  • I can self host this?

  • I struggle to see a direction capitalism can go after topping out.

  • Fascism is born from economic issues and tention usually created by rich people to move the blame. We have a labour party in place in the UK, Elon Musk has already involved himself in our politics. Reform uk is poling 25% and labour 26%. labour hasn't even been in for half a year.

Fascism is battled in the streets and unions, historically this is what has happened.

Fascism can be seen as the endpoint of capitalism, when a system predicated on infinite growth hits the ceiling. While yes vote in your interest I wouldn't depend on politicians to fix the systemic issue that is capitalism.

Edit for clarification: Reform UK are a nationalist party. Labour were a socialist party for workers, now they are liberals willing to sell whatever isn't strapped down.

  • 25yo meet the person I thought I would settle down with, 28 get a job I felt I wasn't good enough for. Partner seems like she's cheating but gas lighting made me feel awful for having such a notion. Gran passes, I can't cry, then a month later partner tells me its over as she doesn't feel the same anymore and again I couldn't cry. Role on another month friends say she was cheating and show receipts, at this point my mind is fucked and I lose my job. Put on anti depressants, do lots of therapy, discover I have mental health issues from a shit childhood. I got to my lowest and discovered more about myself then I ever had known, things are on the up now.

I now have a level of honesty I had never afforded myself.

As to how my mental health journey went, I moved in with my mum, I went unemployed for a few years. Getting help has been an on going battle with the NHS but really I came from a privileged position where my previous employment had a therapy programme which gave me a leg up for 6 sessions. But thats not to say there weren't months of nothing.

    Whats important is acceptance.

  • It takes 12% of a population to intact political change. So maybe. But no I don't believe America has much class consciousness, the red scare still looms.

  • I'm not against voting if it helps your class interest. I also know that the small group that protested didn't let trump win they simply didn't vote. Same happened here in Britain were would be Tories voters protested and now we have the limp neo liberal labour party in power, still banning pubity blockers, still wanting to sell our NHS, doing fuck all to stop fascist party's like reform uk from taking power and spouting racist Nazi rhetoric. If anything our "left" wing party are going after activists.

The best we can do is act within the unions to organise counter demos to challenge the fascists. Historically fascism is lost in the streets. Not in politics.

    I wouldn't trust an ex-fascist's

I used to think Jordan Peterson was based. I lacked an understanding of materialism. Wasn't till I found out what cptsd was that it clicked, we are all products of our environments.

Is there a metric that actually shows leftist didn't vote? But either way I doubt anyone was okay with a trump win on the left. They simply didn't vote democrats.

  • The reason the Republicans won is that billionaires are funding campaign, popularism is on the rise, class consciousness is low.

  • Not voting discredits the allusion of democracy. I'm all for voting within ones own interest. But I won't treat someone with hostility for they're choice.

  • Fascism will happen with or without trump. Billionaire know what they want and they will buy it, this shift to popularism isn't organic, the crisis's we witness are brought to us by billionaires and they will scape goat with whoever they can buy.

Sorry to hear. Living with disabilities isn't easy and I'm similar in many ways although I am fully mobile I have had the odd interaction whilst at a door due to anxiety. Although I do take issue with believing people to be stupid. Most people are fed propaganda, lack critical thinking but anyone can learn. Some of Britain's greatest anti fascist 1940s were ex fascist's.

My "dazzling" is born through passion and a want for a just society. Posting here on Lemmy may empower other to do the same or to keep doing.

  • I don't believe in accelerationism either, the USSR went from shit to worse with no sign of changing. But I recognise that fascism is on the rise, and no amount of finger pointing will stop it. People need to radicalise and actually do something. Voting won't fix the ruin that is the neo liberal project and the debt its forced us into.

  • This same argument can be used with electoral protest. It would be disingenuous to say none voting in protest materialised from nothing.

Yes? Congratulations, you are therefore contributing to our continued democratic decline.

I don't see your point. If people aren't voting then that is a symptom and not a cause. I think also a nuanced lens helps with this. People not voting isn't binary. some knowingly protest, some are seeing the slow encroachment of inequality and just couldn't care less which leader will continue to fuck them over.

  • Why don't you do something about it? I see lots of your posts. Mostly memes or the interesting history pics but you aren't a revolutionary, I can't imagine you canvassing, attending demos, mutual aid, building union power.

    Prove me wrong.

But for now, you come off as a neo-libral happy with the status quo from the previous party.
