is there an email Fediverse thingy?
  • As far as I know email is an entirely different protocol than the fediverse so they wouldn’t coincide. It’s possible someone hosts an email server alongside their fediverse server but that’s not really the same thing as it being part of the fediverse.

  • Do people use git alternatives?
  • There’s perforce which is primarily used for game development. Often games have a lot of binary files that are hard/impossible to generate diffs of unlike text based files. Perforce requires you to check out individual files and prevents any merge conflicts on an individual file basis.

  • About Reddit, Lemmy and self-hosting it on Kubernetes
  • I have a server setup with TrueNAS Scale installed and I would love something as simple as a Lemmy app for TrueCharts. I know TrueNAS scale uses k8s for apps so this should be possible but from my limited research it seems like something I’d have to figure out on my own for the most part.

  • We've grown an absolute shit ton of people the past day, insanely nuts to see how active World is.
  • I haven’t seen any official posts linking to the Patreon made since this influx. People lurking aren't very likely to think about it and seek that out. If it becomes a problem then I think making some sort of official announcement encouraging donations would go a long way. I personally already donated to the Patreon.
