  • His actions are the stuff we need to examine and prosecute.

    Any family and personal connections to Nazism has become inarguably relevant.

    Sure. They're worth talking about. But the bit that matters are his words and deeds. Like you said, he did sieg heil, and he has been doing weird shit with Twitter's algorithm. He probably has more creepy stuff going on that I'm not aware of.

  • I really like TTRPGs because I can try literally anything and the GM will adjudicate on it. Computer based puzzlers feel very constrained because it always seems like there's a right answer and I don't know what it is.

  • The official opposition is a part of the government.

    From the House of Commons website:

    • The leader of the party having the support of the majority of the Members of the House of Commons is asked by the Governor General to form a government and becomes the Prime Minister;
    • The party, or parties, opposed to the government is called the opposition (the largest of these parties is referred to as the “official” opposition);
  • First of all, figure out your threat model. What data are you trying to keep secret from Facebook? What will happen to you if Facebook gets that data? What lengths are reasonable to prevent that outcome?

    Then figure out how to consistently prevent that data from leaking.

    I don't want Facebook knowing my address, name, age, and face - basically I don't want to be doxxed. I'm not willing to go through the effort of hiding my IP, so I'm willing to give up on that, but the others are easy enough to lie about.

  • When referring to MPs, "in government" refers to being part of the governing party. He is a career politician, landlord, and attack dog, but the Canadian electorate has only chosen his party to lead three times. He has spent a majority of his career yelling from the sidelines.

  • I try to use Voyager every few months, but keep going back to Sync because:

    • I want more control over the appearance of my feed, comments, and replies. For the feed, Sync provides:

    • The Back stack on Android seems weird. I don't use a lot of apps with bottom nav bars, but I think they should maintain an entry in the back stack for each category. Voyager seems to keep every instance that I've visited as a separate entry.

    A lot of people like Voyager, so you're clearly doing a great job. Keep it up!

  • He wants to be PM. Like Trudeau, Harper, Martin, Chretien, and the other forty-ish people who held office. As well as Freeland, Carney, etc.

    The guy isn't likeable, and I think his policy positions are bad for the country, but wanting to be PM isn't a bad thing.

  • Zero for PP

    Poilievre was a cabinet minister from 2013-2015 when Harper was PM. Given his rabid support of Harper, it'd be fair to say he was aligned on most of them.

    So it'd be at least 67 bills.

    Are they good policy? Are they good for Canada? Did they improve the lives of everyday Canadians? For the most part, probably not.

    Of course, he has his name on one bill, so there's at least that.

    But saying he's had "zero" passed is demonstrably false.

  • There's no official public record of political party membership in Canada. No restrictions are placed upon you, but if you plan to run against one of their opponents, expect it to come up.
