  • I don't know them to judge them. I can only judge the interaction and there's not even context for that. They could be a perfectly nice adult.

  • Kit comes across like a dickhead from that screenshot.

  • I thought we'd get the UI update at the same time. Sadly not. But congratulations to Deluan for such a massive update. That said, I'm not a fan of making it a minor update in terms of SemVer

  • Entschuldigung. Wie und wann begann das Gurken-Meme?

  • For an hour we dominated in terms of possession but couldn't do fuck all with it. I know Arteta thinks crossing is a numbers game, but cross merchant teams don't win trophies. We needed something more in order to overwhelm them and Arteta didn't provide that. I know Nwaneri had a stinker but he was still better than Merino. Why not try Trosaard, Sterling, Nwaneri and Martinelli on together for five or ten minutes.

  • On paper it's a terrible result and in reality it's even worse. They can't buy a result and yet got a point they'll be very happy with from us.

  • He had a couple good saves but his distribution was pants.

  • I think you're looking at it too simplistically. The issue is the owners but it's not that they're not doing anything, it's that they're not doing the right things.

Our club was in the doldrums for a number of reasons and according to reports, Arteta managed to come with a presentation they could get on board with. It would not only provide them glory, but also profit.

They signed up and invested and as a result, things began turning around. However the reality is that we're close, but not over the finish line.

Now the owners are happy. The club is self sustainable and competing and that's ultimately what they want.

However the fans are in a whole other mindset and the problem is that it doesn't sit in reality.

Just two windows ago we were on the verge of breaching FFP. We went into last summer with £150 million to spend and our targets weren't available. Now you're thinking get other targets. But that FFP issue is the issue, because for example Josh apparently pushed for Watkins towards the end of the window, however this was with the understanding that Sesko or whoever wouldn't happen in the summer. Given that we need a striker, a winger and a midfielder on top of Zubimendi, can we afford to make stop-gap purchases whilst so close? We're comfortably second, we're not fighting for a Champions League place.

So what should the owners do? To be honest, cheat. That's the difference. City pretend they have new sponsorships and partnerships and all we do is raise prices on the fans. We genuinely need a cash injection that keeps us on the right side of FFP and believe it or not, not spending brings us closer to where we wanna be.

Arteta is as frustrated as the rest of us. He wanted to maximise every window and that was the promise and he had and he gave. But missing Edu, it was even more out of reach.

All I can say is, let's see how the next window goes. Because if the club can't do something magical then, it's never gonna happen.

  • An interesting appointment.

Under Andrea Berta's stewardship as Sporting Director and Technical Director at Atlético Madrid, the club won the following trophies:

    • La Liga: 2013-14, 2020-21
    • Copa del Rey: 2012-13
    • Supercopa de España: 2014
    • Europa League: 2017-18
    • UEFA Super Cup: 2018

These trophies were achieved during his time at the club from 2013 to January 2025.

He can certainly win things, but the question is, can he grow us as a club? Only time will tell.
