  • Easy, just add "no racism please, except for nazi-related stuff" into the ever expanding system prompt.

  • If the screen is broken (not showing anything) but the digitizer (touch) is still working, you might be able to plug the phone to your computer and blindly unlock your phone to enable usb data transfer with trial and error. It's going to be hard to tap the correct button without seeing it, but you might get lucky. Alternatively, your phone might support hdmi. If you have a usb c to hdmi dongle, you might want to try connecting your phone to your tv/monitor.

If the digitizer is broken (touch not working) but the screen still working, you can plug a mouse with an otg cable to control the device and initiate data transfer.

If both the screen and digitizer is broken, you're probably out of luck unless you already have usb debugging enabled beforehand, or have a usb-c hub so you can use a monitor and mouse at the same time.

  • Since someone was asking EvilTed of file sizes, for comparison the RAW file here was 24,870KB, this JPG, cropped to about 1/4 of the area, is 2.47MB.

And after getting uploaded to lemmy.world, it's now 160KB.

  • I swear they move the link to release page every few months.

  • Those AI companies should love fediverse then. I mean, all data here is basically open for anyone to grab. Heck, they don't even need to grab the data, just run their own instance and the federation data will flood in on its own.

  • Those are mostly volunteers. The work takes multiple weeks so a big proportion of the volunteers are retirees because people with jobs can only help during their free time. The work itself is physically demanding: preparing the venue, preparing the ballots, sending out invitations, then right after the election is closed, there is an expectation to finish counting and report the result on the same day because everyone is itching to know who's the winner, so in large neighborhood the volunteers might not be home till morning. Also, in this election you cast 5 ballot papers per voter, which means more works for the volunteers. The counting process is slow because it must be witnessed by multiple people.

It will be vastly easier if the ballot can be cast electronically with a machine instead of with a paper. The volunteers need only to worry about preparing the venue then.

  • You got a point, but the kind of bugs eaten in some parts of the world are usually the fatty kind .

  • AAA means they're going to charge $70 for it.

  • Huh, I didn't see any nagging with ublock origin. Can see the site just fine.

  • Do you mean CarDongle? That project turns out to be a scam. But, if you search for "android auto AI box" on aliexpress, there are gazillion of devices now that connect to carplay/AA and basically turns it into a smart tv, like this one.

  • Weren't Microsoft got fined similar amount (or was it higher?) for Internet Explorer browser monopoly back then?

  • muslim women can’t drive nor go anywhere without a male relative

This only true in middle east. Muslim women in south east asia don't have this restriction and can do whatever they want like living alone, drive cars and hold any job, even leadership positions such as president and ministers.

They are concerned they could hide weapons under their tunics and hijabs. They don’t like that they cover their face and can’t be identified.

People can already conceal weapons beneath their jacket or suit, and covid basically normalize wearing masks in a lot of countries (not sure about Italy, is it normal for a person to walk around wearing masks there?).

  • The decision to ban burkini is weird. You can't swim nude on Italy's beaches, but can't swim fully clothed either?

  • Most games I currently played are affected by their decision to not implement implicit sync. I'm back to X11 until there is a solution.

  • I still think the people that would benefit the most from this change are europeans. They are mostly borderless and often works across the member countries than spans 7 timezones, centered roughly around the utc. It's all benefits with very little downsides.

It takes very little imagination to realize that this would not be an issue.

There are a whole loads of minor annoyances related to this, most of them would vary depending on the local culture. In addition to that, not all countries are sufficiently globalized to realize the benefits of universal time, especially 3rd world countries. People living in those countries will experiences all the drawback with none of the benefits in their daily live.
