  • [Moldy Monday] I Have Friends Rule
  • I have conservative friends. Almost all of them oppose Trump. The point you think you’re making isn’t as clear as you think. The narrative of someone using the “I’m a conservative and I’m being silenced/discriminated” isn’t coming from actual conservatives but rather from MAGA and white nationalist clowns pushing a hateful, un-Christian, not actually classic conservative agenda.

  • I get what you’re saying, but I think memes like this are trying to do a few things:

    • frame mankind’s unique ability to think beyond just the interest of self to drive a sense of common purpose (i.e., increase our chance of survival and avoid self destruction).
    • to that end, evoking the construct of a helpless and fragile planet as the calling to fight for self preservation as a species probably works better since all signs point to our inability to act on behalf of a greater good for mankind.
    • the imagery and framing of this sort provides subliminal messaging that we collectively and individually have a power to do something about it (humans can create the problem as well as the solution). Honestly, even if it weren’t true, it feels better to think we can affect change rather than not.

  • I'm going to Rhode Island on Saturday. What is there to do?
  • Rhode Island School of Design is one of the top art schools in the US. They have an art museum on campus that houses pieces like you’d find at actual city museums plus works by their students. https://www.risd.edu/

  • I'm going to Rhode Island on Saturday. What is there to do?
  • If you only have one day, and it’s open, I would recommend visiting Rhode Island School of Design’s museum and campus. The RISD museum was surprisingly nice. Small but uncrowded - it was the type of place I could bring a sketch pad and draw for hours. There are probably other museums and attractions nearby, along with nice places to eat and drink. I don’t know much about outside of Providence though.

  • I don't need to live longer that badly
  • I found the image so I did not place the circle. If it were me I’d probably do a light highlighting, but it’s just a funny meme I found and thought I’d share. I’m sorry if your experience wasn’t 100%. I’ll take the 3 star review and hope to do better next time.

  • As long as they don’t begin measuring spuddling ratio like they do LTR we should be fine.
