  • Not sure if you're trying for eugenics, but it certainly sounds like you are.

Incentivizing sterilization probably means that marginalized groups will preferentially take advantage of it (well-off people can already take long vacations, etc.). So now we have a disproportionately sterile lower class, while the upper class can have kids as they see fit.

Don't get me wrong, overpopulation is a real thing. But e.g. Japan's declining birth rate doesn't seem particularly happy, and I'm not sure government sponsored sterilization bribery is great either...

  • Imagine I have two choices: end world hunger, or end world hunger and kick a puppy. If I choose to end world hunger but also kick a puppy...well I'm kinda a dick, right? Ultimately I did a very good thing ending word hunger, so on balance, my actions are "net positive." But the choice I actually made was to kick a puppy.

Now, I need to eat. So I have a choice: eat yummy food and don't kill an animal, or eat yummier food and do kill and animal. The choice I'm effectively faced with is, "kill an animal for better taste."

It's totally up to you to decide if that is a good choice for you personally.

If course it's not always so simple, and there are financial, cultural, and health reasons that complicate this. But for some folks (like myself) that's kinda how I view it.

  • What's you network setup? Is there any chance that it's connecting through he Internet instead of locally? For example: JF proxies through a VPS, and you're connected to the VPS address instead of the local address of the server?

  • to keep Biden on the ballot.

I think this should be "to put Biden on the ballot." He is not currently the one the ballot, as he is not the Democratic nominee --- the nominee is chosen at the party's convention, which hasn't happened yet for the Dems.

  • One of the nice things about post-pandemic life where I am is the normalization of wearing masks if you're sick, vulnerable, or just feel like it. Someone shows up at work --- or on public transportation --- with a mask and no one bats an eye.

(I'm in the USA in a very blue, VHCOL area, YMMV...)

  • That happened under Biden. Sure, it's a direct consequence of Trump's presidency...but this sort of causal reasoning may well be too advanced for the folks parroting this inane content to comprehend.

Edit: what I was trying to say (apparently unsuccessfully...) was that the kind of person who thinks nothing bad happened under Trump probably won't acknowledge that Roe vs. Wade being overturned was a direct consequence of Trump. Which is stupid --- in addition to the "acute" damage that Trump did, the ongoing damage being done from his judicial appointments is arguably the most damage that he has (and will continue to) do.

  • Is there any automation available for this? Do you fix them sequentially or can you parallelize the process? How long did it take to fix 450?

Real clustermess, but curious what fixing it looks like for the boots on the ground.
