Lowering the minimum volume on Android
  • If you're on a samsung phone, in the galaxy store there's the "Good Lock" app which is a hub for a bunch of qol apps. One of those is "Sound Assistant" which has alot of options including Individual app volumes, and volume steps for adjusting the vol. buttons increase/decrease jumps.

  • Switch 2 Breaks Records By Selling Over 3.5 Million Units In Four Days
  • Yea was thinking the same thing. "How many of those are scalpers?"

  • Steamdeck or....
  • If you already have a gaming pc you could get a phone controller grip and use the steam link app.

I'm using a bracket for my xbox controller that way I keep the same comfort. Most phones have oled screens and a high ppi so it can look pretty nice.

It opens steam in big picture mode all ready, and since it's on a pc you can run the games at max quality.

  • I tried this and it's very well made, but I couldn't go through the first night. Way too scary XD, ended up around a camp fire having to fend off demon dogs with a quickly depleting torch.

  • My new Portal headcanon
  • During the intro sequence of Portal 2 there's a section where a pre-recorded voice asks her to perform some actions and won't progress until you do. Things like "look up when you hear the buzzer" or "There's a framed painting on the wall, please go stand in front of it"

  • Which TV show do you watch again and again?
  • Hunter X Hunter, Attack on Titan, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Owl House

No particular order all are great imo

  • recommendations for a cheap single player first person shooter I can download on Xbox Series X, and jump right into shooting ~~peeps~~ non-sentient enemy constructs ASAP?
  • Got Far Cry 5 basically for this, maybe Crysis too. I've seen Borderlands mentioned here and i agree

  • I've had been using realDebrid until the french gov. axed them. Last I checked it seems to still be viable for Kodi streaming. Premiumize.me works just as good as an alternative for direct downloads from hosting sites at least

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • It's legit. It's got many uses, but it's mostly used to direct download Torrents, they keep the torrent files on their servers so others can direct download. You can also use it to download from many hosting sites as if you had premium on them, so no more throttling or download limits.

  • You're right that downloads already should go to your max bandwidth, but the problem comes that most hosting sites only allow up to a certain speed unless you pay. RealDebrid (and other debrid services) gives you the premium speeds from alot of these providers for very cheap.

I can download from mega or 1fichier at max speeds and without being throttled for only around 11$

  • What are your go-to comfort foods?
  • Poutine, there's this place near me that sells 'em with a lot of smoked meat on it. Or grilled cheese + tomato soup if I've got the ingredients.

That's actually what happens to Grisha's sister

  • Adult gamers of Lemmy how do you find time to game without being exhausted of the screen?
  • Yea oled is very nice, it's what most phones today have too. (Mine included)

It is nice to have a portable computer, but op is asking for playing games and your games can have wayy better graphics if you stream it from a full gaming pc vs compromising quality to have it run on the steamdeck. When you're just running games on steam there's not that much more difference between the two.

  • Crap didn't know Northvolt also did their garbage over there. Don't know if someone is buying the Canadian branch

  • Adult gamers of Lemmy how do you find time to game without being exhausted of the screen?
  • Just get a bluetooth controller and use the SteamLink app on your phone. It let's you lounge back and play games just like the steam deck and for way cheaper. I'm actually finding it hard to justify buying a Steam Deck when I have this option.

I'm in the same situation, working 8 hrs at a desk and I can't join the discord group like I used to during school years. Now I just watch tv on the main monitor and use SteamLink on my phone

  • Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition – Announcement Trailer – Nintendo Switch 2
  • I would say you'd be right if Cyberpunk 2077 was just released, but the game has been fixed since then. Play it, it's fun. Or you know pirate it, it's got no DRM you don't even need a crack for it.

Now I doubt this switch version will be as smooth running or as beautiful as the PC release. So yea don't buy it, 'least not on day one, basically everyone who's been gaming since 2014< knows not to do that.

  • What's up with the isekai genre? Are there any *good* isekais out there?
  • Since I didn't see it here:

    • Saga of Tanya the Evil | A psychopathic atheist bureaucrat makes a deal with God that he'll keep his beliefs no matter what. So God reincarnates him (now her, named Tanya) into an alternate universe where it's WW1, but some people are born with magic. The main character is one of those people, and essentially has a crazy amount of magic, but can only use it if they pray to God. Tanya decides to double down on their beliefs that God doesn't exist and plans on outlasting the war.

  • I've been using MyInsta without issues. Have you tried to backup and reset your config (I think it's done like so: from MyInsta Settings > Dev. Mode> Export experiment Setting. Then from home page> long press home button>Delete Local Overrides)

There's alot of good info in their support Telegram group I suggest doing /notes in chat for the list of fixes and trying out ahmedbackup

also https://myinsta.app/about/ at the bottom there's more links.
