Casual MMORPG enjoyer. Currently. #GuildWars2 is the time-sink of choice. I use #nixos btw. 🤓🐧

I have a #photography hobby in real life, so I like to take screenshots in games and see if I can make blend my two hobbies.

  • Is Rift Hunting actually a good way to make gold?

  • @necropola I don't like doing them at all personally. They're super boring to me. Unless they come up with something in the next release/maps that increases the drops of those essences or give other ways of getting them, I think my excitement for the OW legendary armor has completely evaporated and I'm going to have to slog through WvW if I want that.

    But also, with the introduction of the stat-selectable exotic vendor, I wonder if the whole legendary armor thing is a huge waste of time.

  • @necropola I think the guides are for making the lures or motivations or whatever they're called. If you already have a ton of research notes, and don't want the OW legendary armor, you can turn those essences into a goo damount of gold crafting the T1-T3 motivations for others.

  • @Winged_Hussar I just want them to leave hammer mechanist alone, I'm having entirely too much fun. And I just got into fractals. I don't wanna have to restart everything because what I have is no longer good. :AngeryCat:

  • @necropola @lulztard I used to gather every S4 currency every day when I was doing skyscale and then just to get more volatile magic, and I would dutifully report every AFK farmer I saw. Did this for over 6 months, no change in afk farmer population. I think they don't have the capability or willingness to do anything about it. 😞

  • @meldrik my problem wasn't the price, it's that there's no XL Tall size. I am both Extra Large AND tall lol.

  • Is ascended celestial gear a waste?

  • @asal I can speak from my experience. I made Celestial Ascended gear for my Alac mechanist. It was really just a project for me, was looking for something to do in game. I don't really have much interest in Fractals, but now I'd be ready. I think if your intent behind making cele ascended gear would be to get into fractals, know that cele will likely only get you so far. Higher end groups look for specific stats for the most part.

  • @meldrik @lulztard I am excited for the OW legendary armor, and I was excited for the rift mechanic (was a HUGE fan of the Rift MMO) until I saw their preview video for it, which looked really boring. I hope it's better than that in the actual game.

  • @necropola @lorkano Wow I hope the rifts are more exciting than that video shows, that looks kind of boring. I was looking more for like the Rift MMO, where the whole landscape changes and mobs are pouring out.

  • NIX OS: the BEST package manager on the MOST SOLID Linux distribution

  • @asteroidrainfall I used Nix exclusively for over a year in 2021-2022, I quite liked it. I loved the idea of my OS basically being a config file I could just use on another machine and end up with more or less the same environment. Plus all the stuff you can do in that config file, like mapping NFS volumes, it's unreal.

  • @cyclohexane for me it was and always will be bspwm. Once I had it configured it was the coziest of cozies.
