  • Oh wow! I totally forgot about this! I found this gallery years ago. I took a shot at coding the "Substrate" family of images in Processing. It was super fun and the results were beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • Right? My first thought reading the title was "okay sure, the crystals get cold. Then what? Are we going to push the crystals outside so they can warm up again, ready to start the cycle anew?". How is "cold crystals" working better to transfer heat than a gas/liquid?

I should read the article, I suppose...

  • I get way more use out of Doubly Connected Edge Lists (DCEL) than I ever thought I would when I first learned about them in school.

When I want to render simple stuff to the screen, built-in functions like 'circle' or 'line' work. But for any shapes more complicated than that, I often find that it's useful to work with the data in DCEL form.

  • Lots of folks talking about the diagram. And for good reason. It's a good diagram full of good games.

But I want to draw folks attention to the linked article. It's well written and I enjoyed it.

  • This was an excellent read. The professor clearly thought a lot about what they wanted their students to get out of investigating the limits of AI use. It seems like it was a well crafted experiment as well as being a well crafted learning experience. Thanks for sharing the link.

  • Yeah, seriously everyone should stop buying dishwasher pods. Just buy powdered dishwasher soap. A huge box is super cheap and nearly everyone's dishwasher was actually designed for the powdered stuff. These pods are a blight.
