When my wife and I first got him he never barked. If he needed to go outside he would find his way to the front door and scratch. The place we were renting had an enclosed yard. He would go out out, do his business, come back, and scratch at the door. Yes, he was effectively blind and deaf but he found his back, unless...
There were leaves! The gardeners would push the leaves to one section of the yard and put them in the composting bin every time thay came.
If Butters ended up in leaves over two inches high he became confused. Most likely because it messed with his sense of smell. I rescued him many times from the leave pile.
Butters crossed the rainbow bridge several years ago. His last few meals were bacon.
He was adopted as a senior dog. He was a Deer Chihuahua which have longer legs and snout than a regular Chihuahua. He was adopted from a rescue group that deals with older dogs. They estimated his age to be about ten. Our vet turned out to own three of his breed and estimated his age was closer to 15.
He had partial vision in one eye when adopted but that eye soon became cloudy and he could only see light and dark. The vet basically said shit happens but I was so upset I went for a second opinion. Turns out he was old and shit happened.
I could type all day about him but I'm getting sad.
I started looking into getting shirts made of pirate flags. Since I have ADHD I didn't make it too long before finding a new project to hyper-fixate on.
Is it that difficult to change your major? You are in in your first year. You may have wasted a year of school but you know physics does not make you happy.
I noticed the second thing you mentioned was writing. Writing may or may not pay a lot but I suggest you continue. Most writers don't write for money. They write because it makes them happy.
I'm over 50 and have came to learn I have ADHD through Lemmy. Reading all the popular memes and stories I realized that is me.
If I was diagnosed earlier I'm sure my life would be much better. I've been procrastinating on being officially diagnosed (and medicated) due to... ADHD.
I use Lemmy Connect on my Android and it gives the option to show, blur, or hide NSFW posts.
I'd like the same options on PieFed on my desktop and in an Android App.
