It's not like I married the damn thing.... But to answer your question, because Ubuntu is really popular and because even with my limited Linux knowledge everything just works. A client of mine uses it and his experience was positive. He's the only person I know that uses Linux.
And you can find your lost phone even when it's off! Not that that negates all the other user data stuff. But you can't say big on privacy if you can't ever hide your phone from them. There's faraday cages I guess.
I just wanted to say this is all very confusing. I barely installed Ubuntu on my laptop as a daily driver mostly due to the MS Recall debacle. It's fine, it's great. However, reading all the Linux Lemmy posts makes me feel like I'll never understand. I know all these words and what they mean, just not in an OS context.
