I'm imagining a Radiohead cover band

2
What is some of your favorite background or thinking music?
  • Whatever comes up from the search term "lofi house". Long compilations of good, uncomplicated, ethereal-sounding music that let me go on for hours without having to interact with the player. EATEOT is surprisingly good for this too, especially if you need your mood to do a 180° really fast.

  • Did the year zero never exist ?
  • Years are ordinal numbers, the kind of number that tells you which place you finished in a race, and as such cannot have zeroes or negatives. You're living in the 2,024th year since the instant that began the Common Era. "0th" and "-1st" are not valid expressions for years for the same reason that you can't place 0th in the Olympics

  • How many accounts do you have?
  • Just this one. I don't want to juggle more passwords than are really necessary, and I'm not too worried at the idea of others scrolling down my profile and seeing that I'm a furry, a TF fan, and sometimes an outwardly sexual person when the situation allows it.

  • Imagine being afraid of immodest women in the gym
  • The "before I cave in" remark is probably just about failing the "avert my eyes" thing and looking at the women in the Mat 5:28, committing adultery in your heart kind of way. From a Catholic perspective OOP's concerns are completely reasonable as even thinking about sex too hard is supposed to send you to the forever torture zone. I doubt this guy is a hair trigger away from committing SA but the situation is disturbing in a few other ways

Source: am ex-cradle-Catholic and read all the stuff about sexual morality

  • How did you get your username?
  • Trimmed down version of my 'sona's full name "lythlphene" which I came up with kinda randomly in a weird creative mood early in the morning, it's intended to mean something like "earthy creature". I decided that I shouldn't change or tweak it afterwards since I would have just kept overthinking it and never been satisfied

  • What are some of the changes you would expect in a furry reality?
  • A struggle against prejudice and xenophobia on a much greater level than humans have with only one species, debates on whether it's ethical for a couple to produce an anthro mule or other infertile hybrid, any modern mixed-species regions would need a very complex design to accommodate everyone's different biological needs even if all the anthros are nearly the same size, the study of evolution would be a lot of fun because a diverse anthro world requires many distinct intelligent species to emerge very close in time to one another, endless other worldbuilding opportunities

  • Any users worship Christianity regularly like me?
  • No, and for my one-minute abridged defense:

    • Gen 1-2 definitely didn't happen and were written by two different groups with different religious views using two different creator-god names
    • Noah's Ark definitely didn't happen, and the story repeats itself all the time because it crushes together the Yahwist's and Elohist's writing in a manner especially suggestive of natural human authorship
    • New Testament claims that the human lineage is as young as is reported in Gen 2 (Luk 3:38) and has Jesus - presumably the same entity as God - suggest multiple times in two gospels that the great flood was a real event

That's about enough to deconvert already, and it keeps getting worse the deeper you take things

  • I'm at a roulette table. I only bet on red. When I lose I triple my bet, when I win I restart. Is this a roulette strategy?
  • Congratulations, you've invented the Martingale betting system and are well on your way to becoming an adept probability theorist

The short answer is that casinos account for this by changing the profit returns and the odds of making a profit at all so that catastrophic losses are much more likely

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • pros: exceedingly small chance that the one decision-maker and everyone who succeeds them are correct about everything all the time and we reach utopia

    cons: likely genocide

  • The CEO of PROTON answers YOUR questions! Drive, Linux support, Photos, features, and a lot more!
  • In case you didn't know, you can turn off promotional emails in Settings -> Dashboard -> Email Subscriptions or by adding a mail filter to push them all into an advertisement folder, and the other ads can be mitigated by hitting "don't show this offer again" on each one

    Some Shiny artists
  • These are some of my favorites that you haven't listed. I pretty much only browse TF content

Rakisha/Tanraak does some of the best lighting and musculature work I know of, and prefers to define shapes and contours just through how they distort the shine on top of solid colors. Also a lot of cybernetics. Masterful work all around and the kind of artist I aspire to be.

Redflare500 does a lot of shiny clothing and inanimate TFs. It's often creepy and uncanny but just enough to add to the excitement IMO.

Helixjack/Shinyhelix does a ton of goo content and is one of my older favorites. Over the last decade their art style has changed from being near Fox0808 to near Redflare.

Rhaenjarr is less on the TF side, more often does creatures that were shiny to begin with. When goo shows up it's much more viscous and weighty than most other artists' styles, and with more diffuse reflections like the material is closer to silicone. Very good with backgrounds and scene composition. Makes me wish I had more $ for commissions

  • Why would I want to use the multi-desktop functionality in Windows 11?
  • Nitpick: the proper term is "virtual desktop" or "workspace", as "desktop environment" is already a common term for the software composing the entire user interface.

I enjoy using this feature on any operating system since it lets me quickly scan through and declutter open windows, and place categories of windows in their own workspaces. I might have only productivity windows on one, and leisure and socials on another. It's especially effective if you learn the keyboard shortcuts for navigating inside and between workspaces. All this improves my productivity and keeps distractions away.
