The overwhelming trend from Americans here seem to be far (for america) left political views.
There are outliers, and this could be a correlation or Lenny's own form of propane's, but there's still a lot of disagreement in the comments over the finer points a lot of the time (as Reddit once was like) so imo there is some evidence of broad resistance to at least some forms of propaganda here. Given also how much of it is outright critical of many of the more mainstream forms of propaganda.
It's admittedly a weak correlation based on personal experience browsing /r/all so it would be absurd to imply anything causal re: autism but thinking about that got me thinking about this and also a better chance to understand some members of another type of neurotypical so I figured I'd ask.
The current anger with Sanders appears to be, from an outsiders pov, that he didn't criticize Israel by calling it a genocide soon enough.
That appears to be it.
I mean. To dismiss everything because one mistake, even if that mistake is massive, and then correcting that mistake, if belatedly, to me, says something very positive about that politician.
I'd prefer it was immediate, and it's gross that it took him so long, but all the other stuff isn't cancelled out by that. He's still a net positive. And he DID criticize earlier than any other us politician I can think of, and sure it
Could have been even earlier and harsher, but like. Fuck. If you hate politicians for being open to changing mind based on new evidence, or reforming beliefs you don't like, or admitting mistakes, you are AGAINST them being rational and it plays right into the hands of neoliberal propagandists.
I like to eat, get my bill, and immediately. It's a restaurant. I'm there for the food. Why the fuck would I linger.
One of the things I loved the most in Japan is they bring you as soon as, or shortly after, you get your food. If you add more they just bring you an updated bill.
Or there's a machine at the front so you can just pay before you leave. You still have the bill though.
The police use Roman legionary techniques to force protestors back.
If you take the mindset that you're preparing for a nonlethal war and prepare beforehand by bringing tasers and attaching them to very long wooden sticks, or topping the stick with pins that may get stuck in skin but will break when stuck in skin, or even just use the very long sticks, all you need to do is find enough people to drill in classical battle formations for a while. I think the phalanx did good against a Roman shield wall if it didn't have to maneuver much, which is perfect for city steeets.
Hell, you could go the whole nonlethal bullets route with 3d print guns, but I think firing weapons may result in very much and very lethal escalation, so while I wouldn't recommend it I don't see why 3d printed guns couldn't be used in a staggered fire formation like they used in the 1800s, except you'd just keep preloaded single use pistols in the back pre-loaded with nonlethal rounds. It would be inaccurate as all fuck but that's the beauty of infantry formations in the 1800: the guns were inaccurate as fuck. At least in the beginning.
If they're safe enough to use against protestors then the police shouldn't have a problem, right?
Because most homophobes aren't afraid of gay people. They hate them. It's a very non descriptive labels fan is technically incorrect in most cases, though it DOES work as an insult to homophobes by making them seem like an absolute fucking wuss so I'm not in arms about that. In fact, I support it despite this fact. Fuck you, homophobes, you fucking dicks.
I'm assuming Android has created an army of app developers with roughly transferable skills.
I'm also assuming it has killed the interest of many of them putting the work in developing open sourced solutions in an increasingly closed source ecosystem.
Fuck you, big tech.
The world owes so, so much to Linus, even if most people will never appreciate it, or why. He's an actual fucking hero. I mean, he seems a bit of a dick, but the kind of dick that's usually technically correct, which is the worst kind of correct, but I still idolize the man. Not many people could turn the money I'm sure this guy has turned down.
I was dealing with a boot kit exploit a couple years back.
On the great side (for me) Microsoft's shitty fucking online installation requirements helped prompt me permanently switching to Linux.
On the negative side the issues were still there.
On the positive side I learned about air gapping a pc.
On the native side the issues were still there.
On the negative my self installed deadbolt was a waste of $40 because I forgot my fucking keys in it once and the issue was still there. Also I didn't install it properly.
On the positive side my new deadbolt evidently works.
On the negative side it cost me $500 in addition to brand new hardware and the cost of a locksmith to install it securely.
On the mixed side I epoxied my windows shut, which was a very elegant solution by my apartment being very easy to break in to.
On the positive side I won't even touch windows now, and my knowledge of how a pc and operating system works has increased exponentially under Linux and I actually understand a little bit of C, in addition to bash and Python, which is, awesome.
On the positive my home is secure which is awesome.
On the negative side: WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
On the mixed side I also no longer order from Amazon. Or order electronics from anywhere.
If you ban a mods account then you can say a subreddit was unmoderated.
