Arizona School’s Curriculum Will Be Taught by AI, No Teachers
  • the AI system will analyze their responses, time spent on tasks, and even emotional cues

That means every student is going to be recorded with a camera and microphone? Is anyone else horrified by the fact that the AI software is going to be actively watching and listening to these kids?

Or is it going to analyze typed responses only? (which is still creepy AF, btw)

  • Anyone just hates how some apps can disable screenshots?
  • I agree that it's infuriating! I downloaded an LSPosed module called CaptureSposed that overrides it.

It shouldn't take a specific module hack on a rooted phone with a custom OS with an unlocked bootloader to get this functionality back.

  • The clothing industry is an overlooked plastic pollution source
  • While this is slightly off topic, they do, and clothes made with recycled plastic contain even higher levels of BPA and BPS than clothes of virgin plastic. Some-to-most bisphenols are removed after washing (BPS more than BPA) but they still either go into the wastewater stream or get absorbed through the skin when wearing.

Between microplastic shedding, bisphenol leakage, and general cross-contamination, most recycled plastics are just more toxic versions of virgin plastics.

  • To Privacy Advocates!
  • You don't need to apologize: that user could have clicked your link to the cricut site and easily figured it out. They are being willfully ignorant and intentionally vauge.

  • Mourning obligations
  • You're getting downvoted but your point is completely valid; it's a sad reality if this is the only option left for people to make things better. Things should have never gotten this bad in the first place.

  • ‘What a circus’: eligible US voters on why they didn’t vote in the 2024 presidential election
  • I have ranked choice voting. 🙂 I even had to vote for it three times for my damn state government to recognize the will of the voters and implement it. Currently I think only Alaska and Maine have it. I really hope other states push for it, but judging by the last election cycle where several states voted against it, it's not looking good.

This is part of the terrible fallout of people not voting; people across several states stayed home when they literally could have voted for a better system of voting. It's crazymaking.

  • ‘What a circus’: eligible US voters on why they didn’t vote in the 2024 presidential election
  • Not all the people who didn't vote for Harris are Trump supporters; there are a lot of leftists and progressives who believe that they can't survive any more late-stage capitalism. They recognize that the only peaceful chance to stop the wealthiest 1% from ruling is to stop electing them and stop electing the people who are bought by them.

Corporate democrats are better on certain social issues but they'll still put wealth over people, and they'll never move left. It's why we have the cruel health system we have today. It's why the banks got bailed out and never got regulated. It's why the Digital Millennium Copyright Act passed. Heck, 81 Congressional house democrats just voted for a military spending bill that denies medical care to trans kids.

Kamala Harris is a corporate democrat.

  • Corporate Fearmongering Over Fast Food Wage Hike Aged Like Cold French Fries
  • The narrow focus on whether a Big Mac costs 15 cents more, and if it does, shouldn’t you yell at the people behind the counter, is a distortion, and a tired one, that should have been retired long ago.

I don't live in California but where I live prices jumped up about 30-40% since Covid. Given that a meal now costs between $12-15, along with the fact that workers are just as apathetic as ever (and honestly, why shouldn't they be, given the way they are treated), I have stopped eating at McDonalds and most other fast food places.
