How many of you use Lemmy and ONLY use Lemmy vs Reddit?
  • That's where I'm at. Reddit was the only social media I was using, now it's just Lemmy. I don't consider it "hardcore" or some kind of bragging right, I'm just happier without it.

  • Add it to the pile of reasons to hate 'em
  • I know someone that has started saying "normalicy" and I want to scream every time

  • Only one I'm missing is pets ashes
  • Yes to all of these, although my current friends and wierd collections are both relatively newly acquired

  • Who is an actor or two that will immediately pull you into seeing a movie?
  • There aren't too many actors that will pull my interest just based on their involvement. Sam Rockwell, Gary Oldman and Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) are the first that come to mind but I'm sure there are more. Does Tom Waites count?

  • Polar bears
  • The ancient drawing was by a caveman trying to convince his caveman bros that he could totally take a polar bear.

Been test-driving a Crafty+ and it's definitely a big step up from my Dynavap B

It's been a few days of using the Crafty+ in various ways, trying out all the functions, disassembling & cleaning it, etc.

Overall I'm blown away by the performance and it very much feels like an upgrade from my Dynavap in every way. Cant really find anything to complain about other than the dosing caps/lids being small and a bit of a pain to open sometimes.

Still love my Dynavap but this feels like a better fit for a daily driver for me. Luckily my buddy has two and can sell me the spare if I decide I want to buy it.

Side note: mixing bubble hash into ground flower and then vaping that mix in a dosing cap is my new favorite thing.

2nd suspected heat death reported in Multnomah County as temps continue to soar

"PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County is investigating a second suspected heat death as a heat wave continues to push temperatures into the triple-digit range.

A Portland-area hospital reported the death Tuesday when temperatures in the city soared to 102. The county did not specify how the person arrived at the hospital.

This is the second suspected heat death related to the mid-August heat wave. The first involved a person found dead in Southeast Portland on Monday. The county medical examiner’s office is working to confirm whether the cause of both deaths was heat-related.

Multnomah County has opened cooling shelters over the past few days, and also ramped up outreach to seniors and other vulnerable people who may not have air conditioning. A spokesperson said those groups have been at most risk in recent heat events - like the 2021 heat dome."

    >Portland, Oregon's freeway network is only a fraction of what was originally planned. This documentary takes a look at three proposed freeways that were nearly built, the neighborhood revolts that led to their cancellation, and remnants of these projects that are still visible today.

This YouTuber does a whole series of these short documentaries on Oregon history that are just great

Enjoying my first bubble hash in the Dynavap thanks to you Ents ✌️

Got my first bubble hash from a buddy and of the ways I've tried it so far (smoked on a bowl, dabbed in a rig, and vaped) I prefer it in the Dynavap the best.

Someone here recommended sandwiching it in between 2 layers of flower, and said no Dynacoil was necessary if you didn't overdo it.

Gave it a shot and it works great even tho my Dyna is the smaller half bowl size. Gives a nice extra kick to the occasional bowl, and I like it more than just adding kief.

I don't know if I'd go buy more bubble hash, but considering how long 3 grams of this shit is going to last me, it won't be an issue for a while.

If you're curious I'd recommend giving it a go. It's about on par with basic resins in terms of price, so it won't break the bank & it's solventless if that's something you prioritize.

Love the colors of this girl, even if she was tiny 🖤💚

She was started late, grown outdoors & I grudgingly had to chop her early. She’s the only plant I’ve grown that had jet black leaves, and the contrast with the bright green buds was just neat.

My first attempt at AVB "firecrackers"

I can't sleep and have heard AVB can used in edibles, so let's fucking go.

Its the middle of the night so I'm looking for quick & low effort. I've got peanut butter here and I've never had firecrackers, so that sounds promising. I have some Nutty Bars here too, so let's use those.

I have no clue on potency so I'm just using what looks like a good amount - 0.4g of AVB to 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter

    !

Oh Glob what have I done

    !

Ok it doesn't look so bad once it's mixed up, but this is prob twice the volume I will need

    !

After cracking open the Nutty Bars and spreading a thick-ish layer of greenut butter, I still have some left over. Whatever maybe I'll eat it later.

    !

The chocolate is melty and the greenut butter is a little runnier than I'd like, so after reassembling the Nutty Bars, it's into the mini-fridge for a chill.

    !

They should be just about ready to eat now - wish me luck! 👨‍🚀

Recreational weed is now legal in Minnesota: What to know

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/2466388

    > Minnesotans are now able to legally possess and grow their own marijuana for recreational purposes, after the Minnesota Legislature approved a 300-page bill earlier this year, and Gov. Tim Walz signed it into law shortly thereafter. It became official Tuesday.
