What are some ways by which disabled people can discover and volunteer for stem cell treatment?

I know an incredibly smart senior here near Milwaukee County, WI who's disabled by MS and has been restricted to using a scooter for years. He'd love to walk again, but I but I don't know how he can get involved in studies like this: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-00863-0

All I could find was the ISSCR (Int'l Society for Stem Cell Research), but I don't think reaching them directly would be fruitful, would it?

AdNauseam is a uBlock fork that goes further: it actively attacks marketers by auto-clicking every ad before blocking
adnauseam.io AdNauseam - Clicking Ads So You Don't Have To

A browser extension that clicks on every blocked ad to fight advertising surveillance.

AdNauseam - Clicking Ads So You Don't Have To

It garbles advertisers' data as a result, but you must disable uBlock Origin to run it; they can't work simultaneously. I recently moved to it and, so far, am never looking back!

Stop calling them tech companies: GenAI and SaaS — are they really tech? It’s time to call a spade a spade.
  • Incredible, I had no idea that this was a thing. Is there any tutorial out there that you recommend to figure this stuff out? Or may I ask you questions if need be? I wanna start doing this, too!

Come to think of it, is it possible for you to export settings if you wouldn't mind others (especially those who may not be as savvy) riding off of your work? Haha, that could be interesting.

  • Well, I recently left uBO for AdNauseam because it actively attacks advertisers by clicking every link (thereby leading to garbage data that messes up their stats), but it can't operate with uBO simultaneously. I'll see what I can do to copy this approach since I can't seem to find a whitelist-only-JS feature in it...

Can you deduct mileage as an IC for intermittent gigs that happen at your workplace?

At my workplace, I get intermittent IC gigs from other companies. Some of these gigs happen on days when I'm already there, but others on days when I'm not.

Which mileage could I deduct as a sole proprietor, all/some?

    Some UI questions
    1. How do you edit your comment that you make to someone's inbox reply? I couldn't figure out how and ultimately had to visit my own profile to edit my comment from there.
    2. How do you search for a certain post title in just one community, such as /c/summit?

All are welcome to SJV's free, monthly dinner & game night in Brookfield!

Hi everyone, I'm the pianist at St. John Vianney Catholic Parish in Brookfield, where I began a monthly dinner & game night in Fall 2023 and still run it to this day. All are welcome; you do not need to be Catholic nor a member to participate (I'm not Catholic myself, in fact)!

Have dinner, contribute some potato chips or your favorite dish if inclined (but no need), bring your favorite board & card games or learn others' titles, or just socialize and make new friends!

The link points to a webpage which then points to the following RSVP form: https://forms.gle/p6ApeY6AGzu3LUtt9

Hope to see you there! Attendance on average has been within 10-15, but recent events have seen >20 participants, thanks to new promotional efforts done by a volunteer.

Internet forums are disappearing because now everything is Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.
  • This is exactly what I was gonna say: I'm amazed that so many millions of people can tolerate its atrocious UI. Even now, the amount of notifications I get from the constant text channels across "servers" (which is such a misnomer for merely "communities") is so ridiculous that I ignore 99.9% of it.

  • All are welcome to free game nights with the group West Allis Board Games!
    gamenight.host West Allis Board Games

Locals and non-locals alike are welcome to join our free weekday board game sessions! Gatherings are typically at West Allis's Festival Foods supermarket on 108th & W Greenfield, pictured: https://maps…

    West Allis Board Games

Hi everyone, I run near-weekly board game nights at the Festival Foods grocery store in West Allis, WI for the purpose of fostering community, keeping our minds sharp by learning new games, and defeating loneliness in a fun way. I've also recently branched out into organizing dinners for the group (we go Dutch, though, to be clear), which you can still join even if you don't care for board games.

You are all welcome, even if you don't live in West Allis! For those who prefer it, I also duplicate all events on FB for users' convenience: https://www.facebook.com/groups/westallisboardgames

We normally get a minimum of 4-7 attendees every single time. The headcount has never gone higher than 14. The food court can take 24 people if it were to be totally crammed; I counted the seats!
