  • I have all notifications and ringtones turned off at night but whitelist specific numbers to ALWAYS ring regardless of time/silent settings specifically for emergencies.

  • Exactly. And when you're not expected required to answer, it should be turned off and out of sight.

  • Same, I've switched to it for the time being. All these apps suck in their own way for the time being. It's so exciting waking up to fresh updates every other day though. I've got them all installed and rotate between them.

  • Maybe if they didn't screw the pooch on that cesspool Twitter they wouldn't have to p a n i k and sue

  • She's too good to play that tool

  • Literally in the exact same boat. Even tried preaching that idea all over reddit with no success. Now I'm here and prefer it. Fuck reddit and fuck spez

  • Yuuuup, as soon as boost for Lemmy drops I'll be filtering the word reddit immediately.

  • Almost like the whole system is breaking or something...

  • Look into the reddit delete suite or similar. Though API changes might have started breaking tools like this. Best of luck! :)

  • People argue about EVERYTHING there. Think they're smart playing devil's advocate on reddit

  • I use the android app Jerboa. However, I also tried the app "Thunder", only on GitHub atm iirc. And on your profile it displayed your cumulative sum of upvotes. Funnily enough not the comments themselves, just a score. Anyways, I hope less apps track that. It breeds the worst users.

I think the closest I would want to a total score would be maybe the ability to sort my own comments by vote count when reviewing them. But you shouldn't be able to do that on other profiles.

  • /s on stuff that's so obviously sarcastic. The begining of that to me was a big indicator for how stupid the reddit userbase had become.

  • Queue RDR 2 music

  • Not defending reddit's decision here. BUT, their actions leading up to those exemptions mean it shouldn't come as a surprise. They want to kill 3rd party apps without breaking any accessibility laws. So my guess is those exemptions will disappear as soon as the native app gets some half assed accessibility features.

  • I would add that in addition to this, the community could spool up another instance in a game of cat an mouse should anyone ever TRY to stop it. As the saying goes: piracy is like hydra, you cut one head off and two grow back.

  • That's the beauty of the fediverse. You'll be with us no matter the instance plus, the lack of karma means making a new account on another instance is a tiny inconvenience. :) i likes it here. like we're all in a big pot of stew with no chef to fuck it up. looking at you SPEZ..... dickhead

  • This damn near brought a tear to my eye. I no longer miss reddit at all.

  • good thing I have a plan to block reddit :-)

  • Read it? yeah, I'll read it on lemmy.

  • E2E encrypted communication can be used for nefarious things, that's a fact. But it's something that needs to be standardized because the accessibility of any and all private communication or information to so few individuals can be used so much more nefariously. Really wish people were more concerned about data privacy. It's not about how your data will be use against you.... It's about how OUR data is used against US.
