Gotta love forgetting to take my meds
  • For any one with an iPhone, put your meds in the medication portion of the health app. You get reminders when it’s time to take them and a loud annoying reminder a half hour later. It also tracks if you’ve taken them so if you are forgetful like me you can just check.

  • ADHD parents: how do you help your ADHD kid with homework?
  • Go get accommodations that tell your kid’s teachers you will do fuck all for homework. You shouldn’t have to make your baby cry…

We had our daughter in a laboratory school, with first grade weekly homework packets, and have experienced the horror of upsetting our child over the homework packet. We no longer go there nor is there homework or crying at the table over homework.

  • Is There a Community for Honest Discussion of Gender Dysphoria?
  • Right? It’s not that there aren’t people to help guide individuals through gender identity. It’s that there’s a lack of willingness to accept that it’s okay to be different. Also, it’s not your fucking body or mind, so chill.

  • I can read, but the comprehension from what I’ve just read is nearly impossible due to racing thoughts. Like read a paragraph 5 times and still be thinking about whether the neighbor has mowed yet and not remember what was read so I do it again. Wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to reading comprehension.

  • How to start a career in IT/cyber security
  • And to add to this conversation, I have 10+ years solo IT for a company. Microsoft Learn will help you with whatever task you can think of within the 365 and Azure environments. Whether you use the platform for a certificate or not, you’ll benefit from the step by step instructions for just about everything Microsoft.

  • What age did you get your kid a tablet?
  • From a father of 4, just don't. Our youngest has a tablet, but it is only accessible when Grandma is around because it goes with Grandma when she leaves. But when the child has it, non-stop YouTube play commercials. Omfg.. if I have to listen to another 30 minute video of someone opening an obscene amount of consumer garbage...

My younger 3 kids a different approach was taken and they all had tablets at a very young age. We used them to play Minecraft together while distanced.

Read to your kids, every day. Make it a routine 10 minutes before bed. Those 2-3 years of nightly reading, before they start on their own, will turn into comprehensive skills.
