interesting your proxmox problems. i have a NUC on the way and am planning on moving from bare metal on SBC to proxmox
i have basic self hosting experience with docker compose mostly and the Arrs, but would love to have an instagram alternative for close friends and family. pixelfed seems to be the option but just looking at the guides and some of the posts about it and it seems daunting. any advice?

you usually need a good amount of time in advance to get tickets to alcatraz. if you’re planning on doing that check tickets asap
the whole thing about not having different home screens on each screen is so classic google dumb
i went from an apt to a house and debated this. i did not start from scratch. i had to move some devices to different areas, but a lot of the same automations i liked i was able to move over and just change some devices. my dashboards changed of course to accodate a different space but naming of things was still familiar, all the add ins, and other stuff was still there, just a lot less to have to set up again.
for me there’s a ton of little things that probably i would have to re-learn to set up, easier just to leave it be and move it around to whatever new room it needs to be in.
if you label the entities chat gpt could get you an automation pretty easily with this one. you need to use the fp2 sensors as triggers and potentially conditions with the switch.turn_on and turn_off service calls as actions
