When searching for a controller you may want to check if it is supported by inav or ardupilot to keep your options open. All boards are supported by betaflight, but it's not very beginner friendly.

The module needs 5V and has an UART interface. Also note the tx module is a transmitter, but also a receiver - It receives telemetry data like drone position, altitude.
