Baldur’s Gate 3 will let you reroll your class with new specs | PCGamesN
  • I’m not that guy (the one you asked to reply…), but I will say this as a lover of the first two games - play them. They are remarkable games and 20ish years after coming out I still play them (and do so regularly). If you’re a younger gamer you may find the interface or the graphics a bit clunky, but really, you ought to give them a go.

From my time on the Baldurs Gate subreddit, it seems like 3 was less story connected (per others’ comments), but that was before some of the added characters were announced (e.g. Minsc). That said, I haven’t played 3 at all, so I can’t comment personally.

tl;dr: I don’t know if you’ll be missing out in the story by starting with 3, but you should definitely play 1 & 2 because they’re incredible games.

  • Harvard’s Admissions Is Challenged for Favoring Children of Alumni
  • I fully expect the defense to be, “Well, we can’t discriminate based on the applicant’s race, sex, religion, etc… but the constitution doesn’t say anything about discrimination based on legacy status.”

  • is it ok to use accounts in place of multi-r*edits?
  • This just sounds like too much work to me. I mean to each their own, so rock in if that’s what works for you. I just know I’d end up forgetting which account I was subbed into, and within the course of 1-2 months my communities would be a mashed up mess.

  • How do I deal with "fractured" communities?
  • I think my biggest frustration is feeling like I am missing communities based on my instance. I have 2 accounts on different instances, 1 I created a few weeks ago and 1 I created a few days ago. On my newer account, I couldn’t find half the communities I was looking for unless I dropped a direct link into the search (looking just for the name didn’t turn anything up). And then when I did finally find them, the subscriber number was different (like 1 community had 100+ subscribers on my first account, but the same community only showed like 2 or 3 subscribers on my second account). Anyway I’m sure user error plays a role in this, but it is not intuitive to me, just yet anyway.

  • Don’t make them do it. They’ll definitely do it
  • Well, see, nazis hate Jews (and people of color, and leftists, and…), and LGBT people, uh, well, you see, they uh… anyway you can’t block one and not block the other. See what I mean?

/s. Also, fuck off nazi punks.

  • Don’t make them do it. They’ll definitely do it
  • …the Beehaw users seem to be generally happy with the change.

Maybe? I honestly don’t know, but it seems like it would be hard for them to tell…? If I understand things correctly, Beehaw defederates (what a word…) and now no one sees posts / communities from, say, sh.itjust.works, right? So no one really knows what they’re missing if they’re on Beehaw? Please correct me if I’m wrong, as that could easily be the case.

  • How am I supposed to make sense of my life getting BETTER during the pandemic? Anyone else have that experience?
  • I did not have your experience, but I can relate to the sense that the pandemic brought about some really nice changes for me and my family and, while I would certainly never wish another pandemic on society, I can’t look back at 2020-2021 and say I didn’t enjoy it. More time with the family, more time with neighborhood friends (regular socially distanced evening gatherings around 2-3 fire pits), more flexibility at work (COVID remote turned into full time remote, permanently), more time outdoors… anyway, I do feel guilty (maybe that’s not the right word) about it, and it’s not a sentiment I express often, but I truly like where my life is today vs 2019, and I wouldn’t be here now were it not for the pandemic.

  • Titan sub CEO dismissed safety warnings as 'baseless cries', emails show
  • Were they fully aware, though? Sure the ceo was, but if I buy a trip on an airplane I assume the proper maintenance has been carried out. I know it’s not exactly the same, but there’s no way everyone on that sub had the knowledge or expertise to fully know just how not safe the experience really was.

  • There was a time I lived in Iowa, and it was the first time I lived somewhere with regular snow. I dislike cold, and I dislike dark, but those moments of walking by myself through my quiet neighborhood at night during a snowstorm were pretty awesome.

That said, I’m fully in camp summer.

  • Weekend plans?

Let me hear about your weekend hammock plans. Or anything fun you're doing this weekend. It's been raining where I live for the last 5 days, and it doesn't look like it's stopping until Sunday... maybe. Let me live vicariously through your outdoor adventures, I beg you!

What is the proper "Default sort" for the best experience
  • I go by new. Obviously the content level here is not Reddit-esque yet, so it’s still remarkably manageable to do this way. At some point, I imagine (hope?) needing to shift to “hot” or “active,” but that time hasn’t come for me, yet.

  • Request: Skip to next comment thread button

Liking the app quite a bit. One thing I miss from Apollo was the ability to press a down button (bottom right) and skip all the comment replies and jump to the next main comment. Any chance of adding that? Or is it there and I’m missing it already? Thanks for your work!

    Welcome!

Just a first post to welcome folks. Hopefully we can get a nice little community going here. I love hammock camping and getting / tinkering with new gear. Not the cheapest hobby, but one could do worse. Anyway, welcome all.
