is my favorite professional way to say what the fuck are you talking about?

this is always the problem, politics is a nuanced game. Even if you want to solve the problem you have to convince everyone there is a problem and then get everyone on board with how you're going to solve it.

it's not something you can just snap your fingers and do. it's made doubly hard when you have an entire wing of the government and corporatocracy fighting a culture war in order to divide the people so they can't overthrow them.

so does this fly in the face of their publicly stated principles? yes, but it's the best option they have. this is what happens when you let apathy win you get only bad options.

I'm a real softy, I generally want to help everyone, of course people often take advantage of it but i don't really want to change, I think this is how I should be.

it's not to say I'm spineless I'll definitely stand up for myself but being cruel just isn't a tool in my repertoire.

This It implies that they're only reporting it because it is bad news. Which has a whole other host of implications and make sure you're aware of it.

While climate change news is A popular target for doom scroll fodder, I think in this case it is accurate, and I think it is important to understand the situation well, even if it's not good news.
