Perfect Edition landed recently and looks solid, moved back towards XP from the much board-gamier Red Clearance. Might be time to jump back in.
Sir Terry was the best, but there are some other really solid ones out there. I suggest the Dark Profit series by J. Zachary Pike, which starts with Orconomics, or A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher.

Honestly, anything but barbarian and wizard you could get away with pretty easily. Even easier if you allow a bit of multiclassing. It's much more about the campaign catering to the party's style of play. We had a grand time with all-rogue thieves' guild games back in 3e.
