Nuclear isn't perfect, but it is the best we have right now.
  • All of those were caused by human mistake. But this does not mean that they must be discarded. Because human mistake happens. If it is with a solar panel, it's inconsequential. Not with a nuclear reactor. So yes, it is an issue to consider, but in truth all it means is that we have to be VERY careful

  • Nuclear isn't perfect, but it is the best we have right now.
  • There are two main problems in my opinion, and they are both related to the "fuel". First, uranium is rare and you often need to buy it from other countries. For instance, Russia. Not great. Second, it is not renewable energy. We can't rely on nuclear fission in the long run. Then there's also the issue of waste, which despite not being as critical as some argue, is still a problem to consider

  • Freed Israeli hostage describes ‘psychological warfare’ by Hamas captors
  • Don't legitimize this, it's horrible too. This guy is probably just some random person who has nothing against Palestinians and just follows orders. He's not one of the higher-ups planning Israel's war crimes.

Don't underestimate how easy it is to make evil normal. When you are bathed in propaganda, it's rare that you don't start believing in it. This guy's fault is that he wasn't one of the few strong minds able to resist the mass destruction of truth.

The Hamas are not good guys either. If they had the power of Israel, I wouldn't bet against them doing the same things.

  • [SOLVED] How do I use my Logitech Mouse's DPI Shift feature with Piper/Libratbag?
  • I have the same mice and the DPI button has always worked like that. I don't use Piper anymore because my configuration is stored on the mice itself. So it is possible the setting has been such since before I switched to Linux.

This means a potential solution, if nobody finds a better way, would be to use the Logitech software on a windows machine and save the config to the mice.

I hope you can find an other solution.

  • realization rule
  • Basically you describe the entire system's configuration in /etc/nixos/configuration.nix, including network, users, packages, dotfiles, etc. Then you run nixos-rebuild switch and boom, your computer is in that state.

  • What are some things you wish you had known when switching to Linux?

I start: the most important thing is not the desktop, it's the package manager.

How did you feel at first with your new pronouns and gender markers?

In the process of questioning myself, I discovered that it doesn't seem very natural to refer to myself as she/her at first. How did you yourself experiment it? Did it take some time getting used to? Or was it an instant relief?
