Only very cheap e-bikes have hub motors. They're not a good idea precisely because they don't interact with the gearing system. So you lose that functionality.
It's not worth losing access to gearing just to get regenerative braking because the amount of power being used isn't worth trying to recoup.
It's not complicated. They are not doctors. That isn't to say that some chiropractic practises can have medical benefits because they can, that fact doesn't make them doctors though. Masseuses are not doctors either, not even the real ones.
No matter how bad you have it someone else has it worse.
In order to do my job I have to log into the VPN, and then remote desktop onto a server, then from that server remote desktop onto another server. Then I have to go back to the first remote desktop and remote desktop onto a different server which from there I can remote desktop onto two other servers, on one of those servers there are two different log ons which I can use to do different tasks.
Then back on the main desktop I can remotely connect via web browser to a virtual machine that I can then remote desktop onto a server. If I want to change the password on that server I have to remote desktop from that remote desktop from that virtual machine, into a remote desktop.
Oh and then there is the web app that I have to use that only works in Internet Explorer, but for security reasons IE has been removed from the main system, so I have an entire remote desktop literally just to use Internet Explorer.
It takes about 25 minutes to log into everything everyday and about 10 minutes to log out at the end of the day.
Honestly it will be lucky if we have anyone permanently inhabiting the moon in 20 years. The Artemis program is our best bet and frankly that's a pipe dream.
Oh is he going to build a space elevator or something?
Even if we had cheap safe reliable rocket launchers (Which I think SpaceX is fairly adequately demonstrated that we do not have) millions of people wouldn't be living on the moon in 20 years. It took decades after the invention of the jetliner before millions of people were doing transatlantic flights, and as unpleasant as Florida can be, it's a lot more survivable than the moon (probably).
These idiots say so much crap, why are we reporting on it?
The other guy gets out and tries to claim it was the car mats fault. Meanwhile I have to try and work out which dent if any in his old banger is the new one. Meanwhile his BMW needs a new front grill which will probably cost more than my car's worth.
Everyone agrees not to involve the insurance companies, me because I'm about 95% confident he hasn't actually damaged my car in any way, and him because it was 100% his fault.
And yeah I did get whiplash from that crash, but I didn't sue anyone because it went away after about 4 days.
I do wonder if there's ever been a generation or ever will be a generation of kids that grow up and don't go, well at least I'm not going to make the mistakes of my parents.
I think everyone thinks everyone else's kids are annoying because everyone else's kids were brought up by parents that were trying to compensate for different traumas. The hands-off parents are trying to not be helicopter parents, and the helicopter parents are trying to not be absent parents.
In my experience annoying kids are always the fault of the parents.
I once had an exam question that began with the phrase "ignoring thermodynamic principles...". That question really threw me, it basically asked what would happen under XYZ situation if physics didn't exist. How the hell am I supposed to know that?
You get into the habit of just ignoring the gears because it doesn't seem to make any real difference. Sure been in a lower gear is more efficient but it doesn't feel any different so you don't think about it.
